The Backseat Blogger
Since last summer, my blogging activity has definitely not kept up with the rest of my life. Things have been moving fast and with a newborn my blog has taken a back seat. I did however find time to make a few changes like adding two new reference pages:
1. According to My Sources - Throughout every sport season there is endless amounts of information at your fingertips. “According to My Sources” is a list of everyone I trust and follow on Twitter that provides me with what I believe is useful.
2. Point of Reference - As someone who is always looking for ways to improve my knowledge on sports, I come across numerous articles and websites. The “Point of Reference” page is dedicated to everything I find that could add value within the sports landscape.
I want this blog to not only be a place for unique conversations digging deeper into the numbers, but a place that will curate what I feel to be important information to make decisions along the way, whether it be betting or fantasy sports. This leads me to the other “minor” change I made. If you haven’t already noticed I changed the blog’s name from “NumbersNeverDie” to “ScoreboardWatching” in an attempt to have a more broad conversation around sports while looking at the numbers behind the stories. Not everything I write will solely focus on numbers and since this is a sports blog I needed a way to tie everything together. I believe “ScoreboardWatching” serves a purpose because if you are rooting for a fantasy player, your hometown team or even a bet, you are always interested in the score.
Now that you are caught up on where the blog is going, let me explain the other big reason I have been away from the game. Last year, I joined up with a new company that is changing the way people play fantasy sports. Our team is creating a platform that makes a complicated activity, easy for the casual sports fans. For the past year I have been on a journey that has introduced me to the world of a startup company and along the way I have been part of a team, creating a product that brings together the worlds of fantasy sports and social games. To explain everything would take up way to much of your time so instead head over to GameLoot and let me know what you think. Any and all feedback will be much appreciated.
Looking forward to the upcoming NFL season to get back in the blogging groove and be back connecting with everyone I have met through the past couple years on my blog.
